How do I shape my brows?

I have received such lovely comments on the shape of my brows. First, thank you all!!

Next, I will talk a little about how I achieved this shape. I basically get my eyebrows threaded. For those of you who don’t know about this method, its basically a method (I believe it started in India?) where you take a cotton thread, twist it, and carefully pluck out the eyebrows hairs. Youtube has some good tutorials on it. But, personally I would not recommend trying this yourself.

You can get your eyebrows (in fact even your upper lip, or your entire face) threaded at any Indian Beauty Salon in your area. Be careful though, since not all salons have talented “threaders”. One of them, once clipped my arc by mistake and I was left with 2 flat brows!! Also, please note, that this HURTS!! But the immunity does build over time.

It has taken me months to get this ‘arced’ shape – so don’t worry if you don’t get the desired shape in one sitting. If you have a good “threader” she/he will get you there in time.

My eyebrow hairs, though they are dark, are very sparse, and I love a “dense” looking eyebrow. To achieve this, I use the New York Color (NYC) Browser Set in Brunette. It contains a dark brown finely milled powder to color in the brows, and a transparent wax to set it in. I also use the Maybelline Great Lash mascara in “clear” to set my brows.

I hope this post was useful. If you have any questions, please leave them in the “comments” area and I will surely get back to you.

Ciao!

  1. hey, thats funny that you mention threading, because I've been thinking about getting mine threaded soon.

There is a lady in the mall that I work at who has a stand and she seems to do a really good job. She threaded my coworker's brows and they turned out great.

  4. Hi kelticmaddox, Good luck with the threading. I am sure you will love the results. In my opinion, this method is so much more precise than waxing.
